In 2012, Greenpeace re-evaluated German food control data (more than 22,000 samples) and its own 2009/10 tests and issued a list containing the most chemical-synthetic pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables.
There were 351 active ingredients detected in domestic and imported goods.
According to Greenpeace, nearly 80% of the fruit and more than 55% of conventional vegetables contain pesticides.
PESTICIDE
The most polluted were:
Fruits: Pears (Turkey), Table grapes (Turkey and Germany), Strawberries (Morocco), Sweet cherries (Germany), Apples (Germany)
Vegetables: Paprika (Turkey), Lettuce (Italy), Cucumbers (Spain)

If somehow possible buy organic products. These are usually unloaded. And when pesticides are found, these concentrations are very, very low.
Another plus for organic products:
Scientific research has shown that organic fruit and vegetables have more vitamins and antioxidants than industrial, conventionally grown produce.
